ABOUT US

Creative Ground Studio is a dance school located in the Middleton/Goolwa region on the Fleurieu Peninsula, focused on providing a high level of training to the next generation of creative dancers. At CGS our focus lies in empowering each student to explore and expand their creative self through the art of movement.

Our studio has a unique structure whereby students aren't simply preparing for a concert or showcase; instead, each class is crafted to improve skills, perfect choreography execution, and foster creative expression.

This approach not only maximises every moment spent in the studio, but also places the dancer in control of their own training. Because they are not dedicated to a concert routine, attending dance becomes a choice—a choice that cultivates self-motivation and discipline, propelling their progression forward.

Creative Ground Studio has a competition team, where members learn group and solo routines in additional classes from a range of choreographers to perform at regional competitions.

MEET THE CREATIVE GROUND DIRECTOR

Mia’s passion for dance was born when she began ballet lessons at the age of 2, and dance quickly became a huge part of her life. At 12, Mia embarked on her Dance teaching career by taking on assistant teacher roles, which inspired her to begin her dance teaching studies. At 15 she completed her Certificate 2 in Dance through Empower Dance, and went on to achieve her Certificate 3 in Dance (assistant dance teaching) the following year through Australian Teachers Of Dance (ATOD). She is currently studying her Certificate 4 in Dance Teaching and Management through ATOD. Mia also attained a Level 1 certification in Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher training in 2023.

Mia has previously taught at Victor Harbor’s Dance with Leah (where she was a foundation student), and Lisa Brame’s Ballet Clinic in Blackwood. She currently teaches at Excel Dance Studios in Tusmore, as well as teaching all current classes here at CGS.

Mia has been trained in RAD classical ballet and has completed exams up to and including Advanced Foundation. She has also trained at a high level the genres of Tap, Jazz (Traditional/Broadway/Commercial styles), Hip hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical and Contemporary from a young age.

Mia is passionate about instilling the love and knowledge she has of dance into all current and future students. She aims to guide dancers in celebrating their individuality in a kind and nurturing way, while providing a supportive ground for them to embrace and develop their skills to reach their full potential.
